The Modu is a sleek, 3.5G phone with a 2.2 inch screen, at just 7.7 mm thickness, its officialy the most compact 3G phone ever designed. The mobile stands out in its modular approach in incorporating various communication & entertainment attributes. Modu`s USP lies in its extreme versitality and the ability to morph into an armband mounted music player or a 5MP compact camera, depending on your needs.

The mobile enables users to personalize their mobile`s looks and functions by simply inserting it into a range of unique phone enclosures, referred to as as Modu Jackets/Mates. Unlike other mobiles, where the skins/cases serve a mere aesthetic alteration, the Modu Jackets can often change core attributes like display size, imaging capabilites, battery life, memory and even the phone interface. Each modu jacket comes with its own style and unique functions, the mobile essentially chamelionizes itself according to the changing needs of the user and preferences throughout the day.

There are around 7 Modufy jackets released so far, including a mini-GPS jacket, a full QWERTY enclosure, a photoframe and a powerful desktop speaker, however, the intial offering from Micromax is limited to the Sportify Armband and the Camerfyjackets.

The Camerafy Jacket transforms the Modu into a compact 5-megapixel shooter besides adding on plethora of image tweaking functionalites. The Sportify Armband lets you listen to music on-the-go and also throws in hands-free calling & music via loudspeaker function.

The mobile an easy-to-use interface and runs based on Qualcomm? S Brew operating system. It supports 3.5G connectivity and lets your browse the web at 3.6Mbps speeds. The device supports numerous downloadable apps for instant social networking access(Facebook, eBuddy, Flickr& Twitter) and Google services (YouTube, Google Search). It comes with 2GB on-board memory which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD cards.
